Seu Miguel who passed away a few years ago lived in the town of Fordlandia, where Henry Ford's Motor Company from 1928 to 1946 established a settlement and plantation to produce rubber in the Amazon. But problems with labor, disease, and the humidity ultimately forced the closing of the plantation. Seu Miguel had many stories to tell about his years living in Fordlandia.
